Sales Engineer
Sales Engineer will be responsible for supporting Sales team in Sales activities including creation of sales quotes, technical presentations online and in person, customer network requirement gathering, technology recommendations and network solution design and RFI/RFP support. This role has the customer-facing responsibility of being the primary interface for answering customer’s and prospect’s product and market related technical questions. Additional responsibilities include coordinating & performing product demonstrations, customizing general presentations to create customer specific technical presentations, maintaining high levels of technical product knowledge for business product portfolio, gathering customer feature requirements and submitting those requirements to Product Line Management and engineering.
Additional Responsibilities include:
- Participate in customer meetings to support technical discussions.
- Identify and satisfy customer needs with existing product solutions as well as define new product requirements
- Ability to travel
- Work with engineering and support teams to achieve prompt incident resolution
Qualifications:
- Highly dependable, self starter, positive attitude with good organization and time management skills.
- Detail oriented with the ability to multitask
- Excellent written and verbal skills
- Excellent knowledge of Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, and Word
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Ability to work as part of a team to solve complex technical problems and work with accounts in complex political environments
- Ability to work alone under pressure in customer environment
- Strong technical background in telecom industry and direct customer experience
- Experience with broadband business and residential technologies (T1, Cable, DSL)
- Experience with networking devices such as switches, routers, firewalls
- Working knowledge and understanding of internet protocols (UDP, TCP, DHCP, DNS, HTTP)
- Experience with VoIP protocols a plus (SIP)
- Expereince with premise based telephony equipment and technologies (PBX, KEY system, TDM, PRI, FXS)

Mozilla UI Developer
8x8 Inc, the company behind the Packet8 VoIP service, is looking for a talented UI designer/developer to join a small team of developers working on the next generation of innovative Mozilla-based communication software.
Our team embraces open, interoperable standards and open source software as cornerstones of our development philosophy. We are actively involved in a number of IETF working groups and much of the software produced by our team, such as the Mozilla Zap SIP stack and client application[1] is open-sourced.
As a key member of our team your main responsibilty will be the design, implementation and evolution of the user interface for the Zap client application and other prototypes based on Mozilla.
Attributes we're looking for in candidates include:
- An eye for design
- A passion for creating innovative user interfaces
- An interest in internet-based communication beyond voice, video and chat
- Experience in Mozilla development (XUL, JavaScript, ...)
- Experience in usability testing
The position is based in Santa Clara, CA. Remote working may be a possibility.
